Summary

In today’s video, we’re going to be talking about how you can overcome bullying. Bullying is often seen as a situati where a high school student is trying to pick on someone. But the reality is, bullying in its widest sense can be seen as someone who has more power or perceives themselves to have more power is trying to make life difficult for someone else. And of course, this is widespread. So whether it’s the workplace, in your school, your university, wherever it is, right? You might be feeling this way. And as a result, I want to give you some advice on how you can face it and overcome it. I’ll share my story and I’ll be able to help you in your struggles as well.

Now to make it very clear this video isn’t about an escape. I’m not assuming that you could just go alright, I’m feeling a bit down here, I’m gonna move halfway across the world. Instead, I am going to talk about what are the best moves that you can do.

The first thing you should do is understand why they are bullying you. Sometimes, you might realise that people don’t like you for a good reason. And there’s some people who dislike me for ridiculous reasons. If that person is right about X, Y, and Z, and that person is wrong about E, F, and G, you might want to use it as a motivation to improve yourself and challenge yourself to do better in some aspects.

The second thing you need to think about is how many people are bullying you? Is it one person? Is it multiple people? What’s the scenario? When you think about it, bullying is ultimately war. By creating this conflict, they have declared war on you.

Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will be victorious in every single battle.

Sun Tzu, The Art of War

One person is very easy to topple? Is it five people, that’s a bit more difficult to topple? Is it the entire year? Well, that’s an even more difficult thing to challenge. If it is the case that everyone dislikes you, you have a massive task ahead of you!

Here’s a few things you can do:

Number one, make sure you are in a good position, mentally strong, physically strong, your mind is in the right place, you’re doing your meditation, you’re doing your gratitude. When people were first spreading lies about me, I naturally was a bit affected. I went away, worked on myself, and improved myself. And I came back with an iron mind, and I was like, ‘Alright, these people cannot hurt me’

The second thing you should do is to learn from the situation, especially if you’re in high school? At the end of the day, how much or what exactly can High School do to you? Nothing much. Of course, they’re beating you up every single day, then that’s a problem, I will recommend you get a metal lunchbox or something. However, in most situations, you will come across people who are less than savoury. And you could get strengthened from it that that’s good for you.

The final thing is see what can be done. Remember, this is war, you’re not going to sit there and say it’s all fun and games. You need to understand that you have power as well, of course, in a high school scenario, you can go talk to your teachers about it, or you could talk to your employers about it. No employer would want their employee base to be completely fractured and disruptive! If you want to increase the most profit, you don’t have employees who hate each other and start trying to kill each other all the time. They don’t need to like each other, but they definitely shouldn’t be tearing each other up and having internal conflict and civil war between them. So it is the benefit of the teachers, and they are in a position to solve the problem.
