An update on our mission in February and March
Dear all,
I hope you are doing well!
With March coming to a close, I would like to update you all on the current direction of the YouTube channel as well as what we have accomplished over the las† two months.
To start off with some broad brush strokes. This month has marked a continuation of the clearly delineated goals of the Philosophy for All and Joshua Yen channel.
On the topic of professor interviews, on the Philosophy for All, we have recorded interviews, with Dr. Liz Jackson on faith, Dr. Holly Ordway on Tolkien which you can see online as well as having recorded interviews with Dr. George Pattison (Dostoevsky), Dr. Erik Wielenberg (Sceptical Theism), Dr. Sebastian Ostritsch (Hegel) which will be coming out over the next months. As you have probably noticed with the upload schedules. I have decided to space out these interviews to a fortnightly upload instead of a weekly upload schedule, interweaving interview clips in between them.
As for the outreach of Philosophy for All, the channel has been growing at a steady rate despite seeing an unfortunate decrease on overall views (which seems to be the case across the board on YouTube). On the Philosophy for All channel over the last two months, we have had 21,800 views, of which 16,500 were different people, garnering around 1,800 returning viewers. This amounted to 320 subscribers and 1,500 hours of watch time, helping us hit the 7000 subscriber mark, with us being currently at 7,304 subscribers.
The Joshua Yen channel has had similar growth in this period. Having made popular level videos ranking atheist arguments as well as engaging with some online YouTubers, we have gained 15,000 views of which 11,800 were different people. Likewise, 1,100 of these viewers were returning viewers, meaning that we are growing a good fanbase on this channel as well. During this period we have gained 297 subscribers, helping us hit 1826 subscribers at the time of this newsletter.
This growth on the Joshua Yen channel is most pleasing. It being the more faith based channel, I hope that this increase in views means that the Christian message is reaching more people and that more people can come to know Christ.
To end, I would like to urge you to continue supporting this channel and consider upgrading to a paid plan! Even if you cannot, you can greatly support this mission by sharing my channel to friends and family. At the end of the day, the most important thing with this platform is we share important critical thinking skills and the love of Christ to the world.
Yours in Christ,
Joshua
